Roger Counsil Roger Russell Counsil Sr. 40, died Monday, June 21, 2010 in rural Neodesha, KS. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Grandview Cemetery under the direction of PenwellGabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Pastor Jim Logan of Grace Baptist Church, Neodesha will officiate. The casket has been closed. Friends may call to register on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Loran Fawcett Chapel. The son of Bobby and Joan Pearl Jacobs Counsil, he was born August 26, 1969 in Independence, KS. He attended school and graduated from Neodesha High School in 1987. Roger was a former employee of Cobalt Boats and held the position of a lead person in the Fiberglass Department. He was a member of the Neodesha Bible Baptist Church. He married Tonya Gough in 1990 in Neodesha, KS and were later divorced. Survivors include his father and stepmother, Bobby and Laura Counsil of Neodesha, KS his mother, Joan Counsil of Kansas City, MO one son, Roger Russell Counsil Jr. one daughter, Brandi Counsil both of Neodesha, KS three brothers, Bobby Counsil of Little Elm, TX, Brian Counsil of Wellsville, KS, and C. Doug Counsil of Kansas City, MO three sisters, Tammy Kramer of Grand Prairie, TX, Kimberly Palmer of Pensacola, FL, and Nancy Counsil of Florida one stepbrother, Bill Nolen of Topeka, KS and one stepsister, Tara Nolen, Wichita, KS thirteen nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by one brother, Steven Counsil.
