Timothy Joe Wittum, lovingly known as Tim — and to those who enjoyed his humor, “Timmy Wimmy John Wayne Matt Dillon,” and, with the arrival of his grandchildren, proudly known as “Pa” — passed away on July 22, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. His departure leaves a space that can only be filled with the laughter, memories, and joy he gave so freely throughout his life.

Born on November 27, 1965, to Donald and Marilyn Wittum, Tim grew up with a deep devotion to family. His mother held a special place in his heart, and that bond shaped the way he loved others. He was a brother to Donna Anderson (Darell), Tom Wittum (Carla), Susy Bair (Bruce), and Terry Wittum (Peggy), and an uncle who brought endless fun to many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wittum, and his son-in-law, Andy Holzwarth.

Tim was a free spirit from the start — independent, strong‑willed, and wonderfully unconcerned with what anyone thought he should be doing. He lived life on his own terms, and he lived it fully. He loved to wheel and deal, joke and tease, and find joy in the everyday. His generosity wasn’t measured in things, but in the way he made people feel. If you were around Tim, you were laughing. You were included. You were having a good time.

Julie was, without question, the perfect spouse for Tim — his match, his partner, and the person who understood his spirit best. He was a loud and loving father to his daughters, Danelle Holzwarth and Maggie Wittum. Family was the center of his world, and he was absolutely crazy about his grandchildren, Charlee and Fischer. He cherished every moment spent with them, and with the people he loved most.

Those who knew Tim will forever remember the iconic Fourth of July moment: Tim sprinting across the driveway, a lit roll of 10,000 firecrackers trailing behind him, popping wildly as he swung it in a big circle and ran with pure delight. It was chaotic, hilarious, and unforgettable — exactly the kind of memory Tim specialized in creating.

In recent years, when wished to have a great day on his birthday, Tim replied simply that he had a great day every day. That was Tim in a sentence — a man who chose joy, who found fun wherever he went, and who shared that outlook with everyone lucky enough to know him.

Tim’s legacy is one of laughter, independence, family devotion, and a life lived without hesitation. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Services and burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 28, at the Neodesha Cemetery. A Celebration of Life with dinner will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Ignatius Catholic Church Parish Hall, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and honor Tim in the way he would have loved — together.
