Throughout her life, Velva was known for her beautiful smile and kind heart, a combination that endeared her to family, friends, and the residents of Neodesha Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she spent her final years. Her love for horses, flowers, and cats were complemented by her passion for painting, particularly capturing the beauty of horses and tranquil landscapes on canvas. Velva was a talented painter, earning numerous awards for her work, which often depicted the serene charm of rural life.

She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Charles Reynolds, and a cherished family of nieces and nephews: Julie Olsen (Amanda), Cynthia Hesslewood (Sean), Michael Barnhill, Phillip Reynolds (Shawna), and Warren Reynolds (Jennifer). Her legacy also lives on through her many great-nieces and nephews, including Rowan Olsen, Troy Olsen, Tess Matthiesen, Timothy Toms, Collin Bohannon, Makayla Beach (Shaun), Wyatt Reynolds, Dylan Reynolds, Jordan Jantz (Lori), Joshua Jantz (Madison), Rachel Schoening (Elias), Jacob Jantz (Bryce), Luke Jantz, and Noah Jantz (Courtney).

Velva was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Era Binning, and her half-brother, William Binning. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her, as she brought light into every room and every heart she touched.
