Viola L. Botts Viola Vi Lavon Botts of Neodesha, KS, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, at the Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, KS. She was 65. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha. Pastor Jerry Botts will officiate. Cremation will follow and her ashes will be scattered at the family farm. Friends may call to register Wednesday from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. The daughter of Virgil Lavon and Francis Elizabeth Blatchford OLeary, she was born January 31, 1944 in Bixby, OK. She graduated from Neodesha High School in 1962 and later received an Associate Degree from Independence Community College in Independence, KS. On October 19, 2000, she was united in marriage to Ron Botts in Neodesha. He survives at the home. She was a former employee for Emersons in Independence and Cobalt Boats in Neodesha, an assistant manger for Caseys and was a homemaker. Vi was a member of the Neodesha Eagles Aerie 3448 and the Ladies Auxiliary for VFW Post 1186 in Independence, KS. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Wayne Burnett of Kansas City, MO, Scott Burnett of Independence, KS, and Kenneth Eugene Reno II of Cherryvale, KS; two brothers, Virgil OLeary of Cedar Vale, KS, and Charles OLeary of Wichita, KS; one sister, Jean Labrie of Thornton, IN; eight grandchildren, Jackson, Allison, Tyler and Joe Burnett, Keith E. Reno, and Amber, Darion and Brandi Farris. She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, George Howard.
