PGraveside Services will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Altoona Cemetery. Friends may sign the register on Thursday March 20, 2014 from 9am to 5pm at the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Wilson Medical Center Foundation and may be left with the funeral home. PWalt was born on May 12, 1924 in Fredonia, Kansas to Tom and Lillian Snowder Hash. He attended schools in Fredonia, graduating from Fredonia High School in 1942. He joined the US Army Air Corps in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945.P
PWalt married Betty Cook on July 28, 1945 in Independence, Kansas. They lived in the Neodesha area all their married life. He attended Barber School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1946. Walt worked many years in Neodesha as a barber and rancher.P
PHe was also was an avid hunter of deer, elk and other game. Walt was a 50 year member of the Neodesha Masonic Lodge and the 32nd Consistory of Fort Scott.P
PHe is survived by his wife, daughters, Diane Otte of Overbrook, Kansas, Deborah McArdle husband Gary son, Bruce Hash of Topeka, Kansas six grandchildren four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, his parents, two brothers and two sisters.P
