Wanda Howell

Wanda Lee Howell, age 85, of Independence, formerly of Neodesha, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Independence. Services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Grace Baptist Church in Neodesha with Reverend Jerry Piatt and Pastor Jim Logan officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 at the church prior to the service. Interment will follow at Neodesha Cemetery. The family requests memorials to Hazeldell Church or Grace Baptist Church and memorials may be left at the chapel.
Wanda was born March 14, 1927 at Blackwell, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jess C. Smith and Lella McClintock Smith. On June 13, 1964 she married Lowell Howell and they have lived in Cherryvale and Neodesha, he preceded her in death on May 30, 2011. Wanda had worked in home health care and loved to sing, she and Lowell sang a lot at churches and community functions.
Survivors include her sons Wendall Glenda Lampley of Salisaw, OK, Wesley Agna Lampley of the Phillipines, Russell Karen Lampley of Knoxville, TN and Ray Bertha Lampley of Spokane, WA. Her stepdaughters Carolyn Larry Jump of Independence, Diana Mitchell of Neodesha and Charlotte Bob DeLong of Neodesha. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreatgrandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Marion Smith Dewey Smith.
Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha is in charge of arrangements.
