Donna Hearn

February 23, 1952 — September 27, 2020

Donna Hearn passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020, at her home in Neodesha, Kansas surrounded by family. She relocated to Neodesha three years prior, after living most of her life in Stafford, Kansas. She was 68 years old. Memorial graveside services are being planned to take place in Sylvia, Kansas this weekend.

Donna Gayle Hearn was born on February 23, 1952 in Plevna, Kansas to Carl Thomas Mitzner and Rosetta Emegene Mitzner (Hunt). She attended Fairfield schools in her youth. She married Ronald Keith Hearn and later divorced. They had two sons, Brandon and Brian.

Donna owned and operated a daycare with her sister Carolyn and later The Pantry restaurant in Stafford with her brother David. She was known for her knowledge of gardening and cooking and love for all animals, but devoted her life to raising her sons and spending time with her grandchildren. She was also a favorite aunt to…Missy Mitzner-Williams and her children, Ashante, Alex, Kyler and Dominique; Shala Metzger, her husband Ray and their children Dylan and Tagen; and Tyler Hearn, his wife Carissa and their daughters Madilyn and Kynlee.

Donna is survived by her two sons; Electric Superintendent Brandon Hearn and his wife Cherilyn of Neodesha; retired First Sergeant Brian Hearn and his companion Etta, of Salem, Missouri; grandchildren Makayla, Alexandra, Renae, Colton, Peyton, Jesse, Gunner and Cannon and great grandchildren Marley, Maverick and Marvel. Also surviving are her siblings, Twila, Steve, LeAnn, David and Jo.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Carl, Carolyn and Gary.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Neodesha Arts Association, for which Donna was a hard- working volunteer.

Mom was a force, devoted to her children and their children and determined in her pursuits. She is already missed.
