Dorothy V. Adams, 93 of Neodesha passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23rd at the Neodesha United Methodist Church with Pastor Frank Morgan, officiating under the direction of Penwell Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel. Interment will be at Neodesha Cemetery. Friends may call to register on Tuesday, February 22nd from 12 noon to 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Loran Fawcett Chapel. Dorothy Velma Adams was born on November 15, 1917 to Ben amp Gladys Elrod Culp in Sycamore Valley, Kansas. Dorothy attended schools in Neodesha. She worked as a C.N.A. at Wilson County Medical Center and was the bookkeeper for the family business, Adams Truckstop in Neodesha. The most memorable job that Dorothy held was that of being a fulltime mother and grandmother. She spent time volunteering as a Den Mother, was a member of Neodeshas P.T.A. and was a Charter Member of Beta Signa Phi. Dorothy married Thomas V. Adams on February 08, 1934 in Neodesha, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 04, 1993. Survivors include one son, Don DAnn Adams of Neodesha one daughter, Patsy Clyde Ramey of Nashville, TN one brother, Paul Culp of Thornton, CO five grandchildren, Dawne Lowden, Melanie Johnston, Holly Smith, Alicia Adams and Anthony Adams six greatgrandchildren, Brendan Lowden, Brianna Lowden, Ally Lowden, Jacksen Adams, Nathan Smith, Cheyenna WoodJohnston, and one step greatgrandson, Matthew Johnston. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Tom, a brother, Hilman Culp, a sister, Thelma Streets, one grandchild and one greatgrandchild. The family has suggested memorials to the W.A. Rankin Library of Neodesha and can be left at the funeral home.
