Dorothy Ellen Smith, 62, of Neodesha, Kansas passed away Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Wilson Medical Center. Cremation has taken place with Loran Fawcett Chapel. Services are planned for a later date by the family.

Dorothy Ellen Smith was born September 18, 1957 in Kansas City, MO. The daughter of George A. and Esther Pearl (Parrett) Smith. Dorothy was united in marriage to Jimmy Henson, he preceded her in death on July 28, 2000. Dorothy made Neodesha her home in early 1979 from Kansas City, MO. Dorothy worked for Beverly Health Care & Rehabilitation as office manager for several years.

Dorothy loved to cook, sew, and quilt. She loved to collect Wizard of OZ collectables and loved to watch Wrestling on tv and most of the time ended up yelling at the tv and the wrestlers. Dorothy devoted life and time to her children and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and all her loving family.

Dorothy is survived by 2 sons David Lee Eastwood and Nicholas Shane Eastwood and wife Adrienne, and 2 daughters Michelle Smith and husband Dennis Laforte and Judy Kaye Eastwood all of Neodesha, KS; and 2 sisters Glenna Sue Hecht and Janice Popp both of North Carolina; 4 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jimmy D Henson, 1 brother Warren Smith, and 1 sister Teresa Kaye Smith.

Memorials can be left in Dorothy’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and can be left with the Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, KS. On-Line condolences can be left to the family by going to www.loranfawcettfuneralhome.com
