Maggie Rose McGuire, 69, of Independence, Kansas passed away at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma on Friday, May 31, 2019.

Charles Edward and Virginia Laura (Cummins) Pickett welcomed daughter Maggie into this world on June 18, 1949 in Pittsburg, Kansas. Maggie graduated from Neodesha High School in 1967. In 1967, Maggie married William "Bill" McGuire and from this union the two welcomed their son William Joe McGuire Jr. The two later divorced after 12 years of marriage. Maggie graduated from the Mary Grimes School of Nursing earning her degree as a Registered Nurse. Through the years, Maggie worked at various nursing homes, hospitals and as a travelling nurse, travelling all over the United States caring and helping people. While at one location, Maggie won the award Nurse of the Year. Maggie had a big heart who would do anything for anyone in need. Maggie loved the time she spent with her family and her friends, she loved her dog, Kissy. In her younger years, she was involved with Neewollah, and Billy's school PTA. Maggie will be remembered as a devoted, loving, caring and wonderful, mother, and sister.

Maggie is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward and Virginia Laura Pickett.

Maggie's memory will carry on with her son, William "Billy" Joe McGuire Jr. and wife Amy of Windsor, PA, sister, Paula and husband Jim Allison of Dumas, TX, two grandchildren Madison and Chase McGuire of Windsor, PA, niece, Jami Allison of Dumas, TX and her companion, dog "Kissy". Funeral services will be held on Tuesday June 11th at 10:00 AM at Loran Fawcett Chapel in Neodesha, Kansas. Immediately following the service, Maggie will be laid to rest next to her parents at Neodesha City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution is suggested to the family to assist with expenses. Memorials can be left with Loran Fawcett Chapel.
