Naomi Garber

May 25, 1936 — February 7, 2021

Naomi Garber, 84 years old, passed away on February 7, 2021 at the Olathe Medical Center. She was born in Coyville, Kansas on May 25, 1936 to Estel and Emma Bennett. Naomi was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching birds at her bird feeders. She was a smart lady with a lot of wisdom who was very frugal never wasting any last little bit of anything because she was of a generation that knew better. She knew the Bible and loved the Lord. Her relationship with her Lord and Savior was precious to her.
Naomi graduated from Altoona High School in 1954 and remained active with her school alumni for years. Naomi work at the Fredonia Co-Op for several years before she quit her job after giving birth to her first child Carla. She returned to work at the First National Bank of Neodesha and retired from banking ending her career as an officer at United Missouri Bank in 2005. She returned to Southeast Kansas for retirement beginning in Dennis, KS. and then relocated back to her roots in Neodesha.
Naomi is survived by her son, Carey Garber, and his wife Kari; son-in-law, Rodney Wasson; grandsons Joshua Wasson, Timothy Wasson, and Samuel Wasson; great-grandchildren Jayden Baker, Jessalynn Baker, Jacey Wasson, and Jonathan Wasson; several siblings, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Naomi is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Carla Wasson, grandson Billy Joe Wasson and brother Curtis Bennett.
Funeral services will be held at the Bible Baptist Church, 1100 N. 4th Street, Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00pm. The family will greet friends for a visitation at the Church from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm before the service. Burial will be at the Neodesha Cemetery with no graveside services. Memorials can be left in Naomi’s name to Operation Heal Our Patriots and can be left at Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha, KS.
