Walter Beard

September 2, 1927 — July 21, 2020

Walter was born September 2, 1927 in Tyro, Kansas. He was the middle son of Frank and Alice (Morrison) Beard.

Walter served with the Army in Pusan Korea in 1946. He studied topographical drafting & was a map maker. In 1949 he met and married Aloma Sillin in Independence, Kansas. They were happily married for 57 years. In 1951 Walter went to work for Standard Oil Refinery in Neodesha, Kansas. He work there until 1966 when he went back to college and got his masters degree in Administration, after graduation he taught and was principal of North Lawn School.

Aloma & Walter loved to travel and had been in all 50 States and many countries. Walter served as treasurer of the Neodesha Service Center. He held many offices in the beloved (Seventh Day Adventist) Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Aloma; brothers Ray Beard, Earl Beard, Roy Beard & foster son Rex Robson.

He is survived by foster son Ray Robson of Neodesha, Kansas; half brother Ben Monk of St. Paul, Minnesota; sister- in-law Sharon Bradley of Independence, Kansas. And many nieces & nephews.

Walter was loved by many people- he was a kind soul. He will be greatly missed by many friends and family. There will be no services at this time.
